Maison history: The company was started in 1913 by Mario Prada and his brother Martino as a leather goods shop – Fratelli Prada – in Milan, Italy. Initially, the shop sold animal goods and imported English steamer trunks and handbags.
Heiress Miucia Prada expanded the company line to fashion apparel and shoes debuting the Prada brand as creative director at Milan Fashion Week in 1988.
Prada’s Flaming Hot Shoes: The 2018 footwear is part of Prada’s Fall 2018 collection and is a nod to the fashion house’s iconic 2012 flame motif.
