Vin+Omi Fall 2020 Collection With Prince Charles Upcycles Materials From The Royal Estate.

Last fall, Charles Prince of Wales formed an ongoing partnership with London’s Vin + Omi designers allowing them to source materials from the Royal Estate. The quirky designers took waste nettles from Prince Charles’ Highgrove property and upcycled them into a new nettle fabric. In addition to the royal nettles, the Vin + Omi fall 2020 “eco-only” collection incorporated organic eco flax, latex from an eco-sustainable, ethnically run latex plantation, and ocean salvaged plastic from a VIN + OMI clean up scheme. Vin + Omi used the leather-like materials for trousers, skirts and a super sleek shift dress.

They also included rPET, a combination of recycled polyesters, recycled plastics and pure, 100% organic cotton, to design an ethereal selection of puffer coats and flower coats.

Styled differently, one can see a young heiress or debutante in the flirty lawn dresses and pastel cotton smocks.

Things took a strange twist when an elegant but somber column dress came down the runway. Both the dress and the classic trench were made from organic fleece from no-kill pet alpaca.

In addition to the partnership with His Royal Highness Prince Charles, Vin + Omi have contracted with other prestigious sponsors including Team GB Olympians, London’s tailor Mr Start, leading art brand Daler Rowney and show host The Savoy Hotel.

Overall, the collection gives off a strong Billie Eilish vibe. It’s fun, outrageous, and full of life.
