Refinery29s’s annual event 29Rooms returned a second year. This time the inclusive party/exhibition/wonderland event’s concept titled “Powered by People” allowed guests to explore 29 rooms filled with art and immersive installations that push the envelope on global issues such as body positivity, mental health and self-expression.
The lifestyle brand’s co-founders Philippe von Borries, Justin Stefano,Christene Barberich, and Piera Gelardi, were joined by hundreds of influencers from the worlds of fashion, music, art, food and design for the opening night.
Notable attendees include Jessica Alba, Alina Baikova, Carrie Brownstein, Arden Cho, Priyanka Chopra, Hailey Clauson, Jackie Cruz, Andre Holland, Rashida Jones, Victoria Justice, Eileen Kelley, Precious Lee, Peyton List, Stacy London, Kate Mara, Andreja Pejic, Whitney Port, Sofia Richie, Louise Roe, Jenny Runk, Christian Siriano, Ashley Smith, Yael Stone, Nico Tortorella and more.
29Rooms opening night featured DJ sets by SIMIHAZE, MAY KWOK and NELLEKE. The event took place at 8 Ingraham Street in Bushwick, Brooklyn.
The evening launched the digital media company’s ultimate New York Fashion Week destination, “29Rooms: Powered by People,” which encourages visitors to explore a maze-like, 80,000 square foot warehouse, where fantastical rooms unfold to showcase style, virtual reality, art, film, design and beauty.
