Is dad-core really a thing? Well, yes and no. “Dad-core” is the popular new phrase in fashion used to sell a style, chances are you’ve been wearing the look for years, it’s a hoodie, nylon track pants or denim jeans and sneakers. It used to be called “urban street wear” but dad-core is the new family-friendly (and white friendly) name recently credited to Demna Gvasalia.

Whatever you call it, style boards are attaching the style aesthetic to dads walking with their children in the park or hanging out with their kids at the coffee shops. This is thanks to the recent generation of nesting millennial fathers who are redefining what it means to be a dad, and the cool factor that comes with it.
But it isn’t all street wear, men who are deep into House 99 want a wardrobe to go with it.

But let’s face it, designers can label any look they put on the runway as “dad-core”.

The key accessory to make the look work is the baby.
