Jeremy Scott joins a long list of talents in the international world of fashion with his new Melissa shoe collaboration. The Brazilian brand, Melissa, has collaborated with big names including Karl Lagerfeld, Vivienne Westwood, and Jean Paul Gaultier to create one-of-a-kind models of plastic shoes.  The Jeremy Scott + Melissa Spring 2016 collection titled ‘Inflatable’ is inspired by “pools” and features a deflating valve along the heel.  The humor of the functional design element is a signature of Jeremy Scott who has made his name on purposing cultural objects into fashion.

The first look at the collection was shown during The Jeremy Scott Spring 2016 fashion show during New York Fashion Week. The following day Jeremy announced the Melissa collaboration and the catwalk debut ,

Jeremy Scott was a logical choice for the plastic shoe brand.  His penchant toward the animated and colorful made for a likely collaboration.
