MRZ is a sportswear brand established by Italian fashion designer Simona Marziali. The contemporary street brand distinguishes itself with its unusual knit designs. Designer Simona Marziali liberally uses technical and compact yarns as MRZ’s primary textile, even for sport wear. This season knitwear appeared all over the New York and Paris runways, and Marziali’s fall/ winter 2019 collection hit a number of top knitwear trends.

The biggest knit trend this season is the dickie. Proenza Schouler and Gabriela Hearst each presented deconstructed knit dickies. MRZ created a sweater version of the dickie in a geometric patchwork knit.

The most impressive design MRZ presents is a white motor cycle jacket in quilted knit. Quilting is common for leather garments but Marziali recreates the quilted pattern using a technical compact yarn. The technique loosely applied to a fierce grey sweater throws out some series Margiela vibes.

The cozy scarf is the most common knitwear trend this season. In Paris, Jacquemus created charming Demoiselles scarves. At MRZ Marziali uses the same patchwork design as her dickie sweaters for scarfs.

MRZ also presents a line of trousers and matching tunics in knit. She layers the paper thin pieces under simple white dress shirts, pullovers, and jackets.
