“It’s not hard to design a sustainable collection”
– Mother of Pearl
The Mother of Pearl resort 2020 collection is an edit of their most sustainable designs coupled with a few classic looks that never go out of style. MOP (Mother of Pearl) produces their collection responsibly in a closed loop process. They recycle water to cut down on waste and use fewer chemicals during the manufacture. Designs are made primarily in Tencel silk, a sustainable brand of viscose. Tencel fiber originates from a renewable raw wood material created by photosynthesis. The trees used for Tencel silk are under strict regulations to ensure there is no harm to our planet.

What’s New
New MOP designs include a dynamic, yarn-fringed leather jacket and trendy leather slouch boots with pearl shaped heels. The leather pieces, made in Portugal, use locally sourced leather, a by-product of the meat industry. Recently the MOP designer shared her intentions to find a more sustainable alternative.
Our shoes aren’t as sustainable as we want them to be, but we are working on it- stay tuned! – Mother of Pearl

What’s Back
The Marita asymmetrical skirt returns this season in a polka dot print. MOP features the skirt with an impressive yarn-fringed, cable knit cardigan in pearly white.

The same cable knit sweater also comes in a natural, earthy shade.

The collection features drop waists dresses and flowy trousers and blouses. The bright rustic colors printed digitally onto fabrics help maintain lower water usage.

The new Mother of Pearl collection is on the designer’s e-commerce website. Prices for the East London brand range from $295 for blouses and trousers to $595 for dresses.
