It’s official. London Fashion Week opens its doors to the public making it the first of the four fashion capitals to do so.
Traditionally only buyers and industry professionals receive invitations to London Fashion Week (LFW), but in a press release from The British Fashion Council they are reformatting in response to the changing fashion landscape. They said their aim is to “inspire young people, make #LFW a cultural city-wide celebration, and introduce fashion to a wider audience”.
Industry professionals will attend scheduled shows and presentations from September 13th – 17th, 2019. And the general public can purchase tickets to attend catwalk shows as well.
There will also be creative installations, industry-led talk panels, and the DiscoveryLAB, a brand new Designer Exhibition exploring topics around sustainability, community and ethics.
As part of the new London Fashion Week format the Designer Exhibition will focus on #PositiveFashion, celebrate industry best practice, and encourage positive change.
Guests will discover new sustainable brands and progressive designers. They will also learn how the fashion industry can be used as a force for change.
