After a few years away Margherita Missoni returns to her families company as creative director of M Missoni, effective immediately. In 2010 Margherita, the grand-daughter of founders Ottavio and Rosita Missoni, ran the accessories division but in 2015 she left the company to pursue other projects.

According to Vogue UK, the family-owned brand sold a minority stake to a government-backed private equity fund. Three months on, this is the first sign of change after the deal has emerged.
The Missoni Group intends to develop a completely new M Missoni product offering for global distribution. Margherita Missoni’s responsibilities as creative director of M Missoni will include re-branding the style of the second line to appeal to a broader, younger customer.
“I am both proud and overjoyed to welcome Margherita back into the Missoni Group as the Creative Director of M Missoni. In her professional trajectory within and outside the Company, Margherita has demonstrated her considerable skills.”
Angela Missoni, President and Creative Director of the Group.
Founded in 1998, the M Missoni brand has a turnover of over 50 million euros and is currently sold in 60 countries worldwide.

Margherita Missoni’s first collection for M Missoni will show in spring 2020.
