Around the world celebrities honored Nelson Mandela’s birthday, the freedom fighter and beloved South African leader would have turned 100 years old this month.
Recently former President Barack Obama gave a speech in South Africa to commemorate his birth, and about the same time, Naomi Campbell honored his families legacy promoting “Grandad Mandela”, a children’s book written by two generations of the Mandela family.

“Grandad Mandela captures the beauty and wisdom of Madiba’s spirit. I honestly believe this book will help illuminate young peoples lives for many generations to come.
It’s an inspiring story of hope and positivity triumphing in the face of adversity.
The way the book captures the conversation between grandmother and grandchildren is so so touching. The marvelous illustrations by Sean Qualls capture the sensitivity of this and help bring the beautiful story to life.”
-Naomi Campbell shared on Instagram.
Naomi took the photo during Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week earlier this month. The same day she attended the show of long time friend and iconic designer Jean Paul Gaultier.

The new Nelson Mandela book “Grandad Mandela” is available online and in bookstores now.
