5 Gender Fluid Looks Inspired By Our Favorite Style Queer Influencers.

Today’s style guide is inspired by 5 queer artists killing the fashion game, Nico Tortorella, Amandla Stenberg, Janelle Monae, EJ Johnson and Asia Kate Dillon. They are not only powerful style influencers, they are advocates and role models serving the community.

Look #1 Inspired by EJ Johnson

#RichKid EJ Johnson is a force to be reckoned with which is why our inspo look is GLAM with a brilliant POP of color and lots of shimmering SHINE.Slide7

Look #2 Inspired by Amandla Stenberg

It wasn’t too long ago that Amandla Stenberg made the switch from pretty party dresses to grown-up glam. We especially noticed a significant shift in Amandla’s style when the 19-year-old Everything, Everything star came out as queer in an interview with King Princess for Wonderland Magazine.

For our inspiration look we leaned heavily on the bright pop star’s love of color and fun accessories.Slide4

Look #3 Inspired by Asia Kate Dillon

Mx. Asia Kate Dillon is the break out star of Showtime’s TV show Billions. Asia plays a non-binary, millennial character in the hyper-masculine world of hedge funds.

This inspo look is a blend of Asia’s personal style with their character’s powerful role in the world of Billions.

Slide5Look #4 Inspired by Janelle Monae

Janelle Monae is an artistic powerhouse with a killer fashion aesthetic on or off the red carpet.

For our inspo look we reached back into the singer’s style archives when pinstripes were her trademark.

Slide6Look #5 Inspired by Nico Tortorella

Nico Tortorella is not only a brilliant actor and poet he is also a style chameleon. In an interview with Them in 2018 Tortorella states, “I just pretty recently have come to terms with the fact that maybe I am not fully cisgender”. In fact the Younger television star identifies as gender-fluid which he often expresses through fashion (because fashion is the BEST way to express yourself, obviously!)

Our inspo look takes into account Tortorella’s flair for the dramatic and for layering multiple pieces that might be from the men’s or women’s wear collections.
