Fanny packs, messengers bags and backpacks are flooding the accessories world right now. And everyone from Rihanna to Yara Shahidi are rocking the hot new trend. We too love the gender neutral, hands-free design but the cross-body trend has taken over the accessories selection with every designer rushing out some version of the body bag to take advantage of the market.
So it is a relief to see designer Peet Dullaert isn’t simply jumping on the fanny pack bandwagon, instead, for pre spring 2019 he created a new line of elegant hand bags.

If you are thinking hand bags are too classic or too vintage then you will be surprised when I tell you the trendy hands-free bag design is much older dating back to Egyptian times.
And as with anything in fashion, it’s all about how you style it.

Peet Dullaert Pre Spring/ Summer 2019 Accessories Collection:
Peet Dullaert’s chic new hand bag collection has embellishments, applique and precious materials that make them a true accessory. For the new line Dullaert referenced artisanal craftsmen and blacksmith designs from a simpler era. For instance the ‘Gaia’ clutch is handmade, with a gold tone handle, decorated with faux-pearls and lined inside with a handy mirror.

My favorite is the ‘Hepha’ (yes, it’s called Hepha) shoulder bag designed in leather, decorated with faux-pearls and gold tone hardware including an artisan lock and key.

The most precious hand bag is the ‘Selene’ handbag inspired by the moon goddess. The triangular shape symbolizes the connection between the sun, moon and earth. The ‘Selene’ bag features gold tone hardware and a 24-carat plated horn closure.

We love hearing from you. Tell us what you think of the collection.
