According to the Fashionista ASOS will no longer develop products using mohair, silk, cashmere or feathers. This is a trend that started when luxury brands, retailers and magazines committed to going fur free. And by “brands” I mean MEGA brands like Stella McCartney, Giorgio Armani, Versace and Gucci. And since these contemporaries are delivering on their promise to ditch fur, many other brands are starting to follow suit.

But fur isn’t the only abused animal product in the fashion industry. Textiles made from wool and feathers are also widely used, as well as insect textiles created from silk worms. ASOS is the first to commit to removing any such materials from their collections.

Could this be the start of a fashion revolution?
