BFC & David Beckham Recognize Design Disrupter Bianca Saunders During LFWM.

This morning London Fashion Week paused to celebrate their brightest NEWGEN designers, among them was break-out menswear designer Bianca Saunders. Saunders has become most known for her exhibition Personal Politics which examined the sexuality, vulnerability and gendered expectations of London’s young men.

“It’s really weird how masculinity gets entwined with sexuality that is why the guys in my collection look vulnerable. They’re almost scared to talk about it ‘incorrectly’.

For her Spring 2019 collection “Gestures”, presented during London Fashion Week Men’s, Saunders continued her exploration of black male identity and hyper-masculinity. Silhouettes were softened, leaner and form fitting to the body.

This morning Bianca Saunders met with David Beckham & Dylan Jones who arrived in person to share a few words with London’s hot new creative talent.  In addition to Bianca Saunders, the BFC invited design brands A-COLD WALL*, Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY, Kiko Kostadinov, Liam Hodges, Per Götesson, Phoebe English, Wales Bonner and Paria /FARZANEH.
