Louis Vuitton’s creative director Nicholas Ghesquire is known for his ability to create trademark designs. Ghesquiere excels at marrying his modern vision and the brand’s heritage style. It sets him apart from many other big brand creative directors whose work sometimes rely too heavily on the archives.
For example, the Louis Vuitton 2019 Cruise collection Ghesquire reinvents the relaxed baby doll dress and oversized jackets from the 90s employing his architecture background, turning out contemporary redesigns that are beautifully structured and well tailored.

My absolute favorites are the breezy capes and draped bomber jackets lined with the signature Louis Vuitton print. They are exciting and new.

I appreciate the deceptively simple design, the flawless execution and functional details like the zippers which allow you to play with the shape and to expose the famous LV jacket lining.
I fully expect this to be copied by every major fast fashion company in the industry, but I predict they will not be able to reproduce the elegance or tailoring of this Louis Vuitton original.

This jacket will be all I think about for the rest of the season.
