10 Corso Como Hosts ‘Food For Fashion’ Event During Milan Fashion Week Men’s 2018.

10 Corso Como is a cool concept store dedicated to contemporary art, gastronomica, design and fashion. There is one in Milan and one in Hong Kong and soon one will open in Miami Beach. The concept store is the brain child of Carla Sozzani, sister of the late Franca Sozzani who was the editor-in-chief of Vogue Italia until her death in 2016.

During Milan Fashion Week Men’s 2018, Carla Sozzani hosted an event at 10 Corso Como titled “Food For Fashion” to support the launch of a new product by food maker Marco Bonaldo and Venetian knitwear designer Carlo Volpi. The product is a selection of olive oils dressed in edgy designs to attract the next generation of food shoppers.

Marco Bonaldo and Carlos Volpi both love style and eating well.  Marco discovered Carlo’s work while flipping through a magazine. He reached out to Carlo to talk about a collaboration. Carlos was intrigued by the idea of combining two classically associated discipline’s in Italian culture. Marco and Carlos decided to partner together to create ‘Galateo and Friends’ (the food for fashion product) and the rest is history.

In addition to designing the packaging, Carlos Volpi opted to design a small capsule collection in Terra cloth knit in signature prints and colors. The exclusive new collection includes four cardigans and four t-shirts.

Carlo applied the same color combination to the food products. Each olive oil tin is packaged in recycled cardboard and tied with a lace ribbon. The colorful new designs are definitely an upgrade to traditional packaging.

At the event, Carla Sozzani made a rare appearance. We captured Carla Sozzani at the event with The Fashion Plate magazine’s editor-in-chief Nichelle Cole. Both Marco Bonaldo and Carlo Volpi were in attendance as well wearing Carlo Volpi designs.
