The 4th Arab Fashion Week for ready-couture & resort 2018 will include two of fashion’s leading designers, Antonio Marras and Georgina Chapman of Marchesa. And we totally get the appeal. Both designers have a very similar vibe.
Their muses are typically young women, exploring fashion, in love with different kinds of fabrics, lingerie. They are romantic, playful and curious. They love clothes from the 20s, 30s, even the 50s- swinging fringe and tulle skirts, hand-painted florals and decadent embroideries.
Who wouldn’t want these two at Fashion Week?
If this is the brand Arab Fashion Week wants to lead with we are all in! The shows begin on May 16th and will feature 20 international brands from around the world. And we can only imagine the other showcasing designers.
“Marchesa has such a strong presence in the Middle East and we’re excited to have a space where clients can experience our brand first-hand,” co-founder and designer Georgina Chapman tells Vogue Arabia on showing at Arab Fashion Week.
The event, sponsored by the royal family’s office and investment holding company MBM, will be officially opened by members of the private office of Sheikh Mohammad bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, chairman of MBM Investment.
The Arab Fashion Council is made up of a group of regional fashion pioneers performing as an international extraterritorial authority. Founded in 2014 in London, the concept of the program is not only to promote regional talent but also allow international designers to showcase their collections and successfully establish their business in the region.
Arab Fashion Week 2018 will be held in Dubai at the Meydan Hotel & Grandstands from May 16th – 20th.
