Shanghai Fashion week is on and we arrived just in time for the Damir Doma FW17 show. This marks the designers first foray into China.

For the past decade major designers such as Dior, Vivienne Westwood, Les Hommes and Dirk Bikkembergs have taken the opportunity to show their collections during Shanghai Fashion Week. Damir Doma is the latest to travel to China with his AW17 collection which he presented Monday evening at the Shanghai Exhibition Center.

With a full Asian model cast, additional unseen looks, new styling, new accessories, and a new mood Damir Doma created something new out of the previously shown collection.

For fall/winter 2017-18 the male and female pieces are melting ever closer together.

New to the Damir Doma presentation are the accessories from Slim Barrett, which make a more convincing dialog of the masculine and feminine tropes.

The space has a more formal feeling than the one used for their Milan show. The combination of the raw industrial space and the deep shadows, with the punk mood and ethnic styling all resonated well together and managed to make his collection more avant garde than any of his previous seasons.
