Stay Woke: Why We Should Be Worried About Supreme Court Nominee Neil Gorsuch.

“Judge Neil Gorsuch has a long, detailed record that shows he cares more about corporations than women, workers, consumers and families.” Elizabeth Warren described yesterday while standing on the steps of the Supreme Court surrounded by 1 million petition signatures.

The petition signatures are meant to convince senators to stand with her in opposition of Neil Gorsuch’s ascent to the Supreme Court seat left vacant for 293 days after Justic Scalia died.

The nomination landed at a moment of sharply increasing alarm among progressives that the Trump administration plans to pursue extremist policies on core questions likely to come before the court, from religious equality to abortion rights, voting rights, access to healthcare, LGBT rights, anti-discrimination protections and more.

Neil Gorsuch is very young for a Supreme Court nominee, 49, and will likely have a very long tenure on the bench, interpreting the law for millennials’ entire adult lives.

With the confirmation hearing beginning in just a week, Democratic politicians and organizations are mounting a case against Gorsuch, according to The Hill.

A case most believe they will lose.
