Off-White is one of the most successful young brands on the market stocked at Selfridges, Barneys New York and Net-a-porter. The creative director Virgil Abloh combines edgy street-wear aesthetics with luxury level fabrication.
For it’s upcoming 5th season for Spring/ Summer 2018 Virgil will skip Paris Men’s Fashion Week and instead show his collection in June at the biggest man party in the world, Pitti Uomo.
“Pitti is the ultimate destination for menswear’s most committed peacocks, a gathering place for acolytes of softly tailored shoulders, men who fear no bold pattern, and wearers of the finest shoes on planet Earth.” -GQ
Abloh’s Off-White will join designer and brand J.W. Anderson as the events second guest designer in a featured runway show.
This is a major step. Abloh’s Pitti Uomo show follows in the footsteps of some of menswear’s coolest designers in the industry including Raf Simons, Gosha Rubchinskiy and Tim Coppens.
Showing the collection in Florence will give it a great springboard for the direction I was tracking towards anyways, said Abloh. It’s allowed me to have a more in-depth conversation with tailoring and how sartorial pics can be worn on the street by a younger generation.
