Alberto Guardiani is a self-proclaimed shoe specialist. And as such Guardiani believes comfort (in footwear) is not a plus, it’s a must. For this reason, he prefers to talk more about balance between style and functionality. Which is why for his spring 2017 Alberto Guardiani revisits the sneaker, and the idea that a sneaker can be worn for all occasions.
This season delivers a collection that is versatile, feminine, practical and is designed with an added lightness and charm for a fun and carefree look. The Roundy is a perfect example, with its structure radically updated through a background that is embellished by a golden chain insert underlined by a ton-sur-ton laminated outline. The upper features a cage design which combines the austerity of a classic female style with an imaginative choice of materials: optical printed calfskin mixed with suede.

A similar metamorphosis is applied to the designer’s iconic Sharkboot, featuring the recognizable shark tooth sole. For Spring Summer 2017 this footwear is more feminine than its predecessors.

The bold pattern conveys a dynamic charm not unlike the Moccasin, a house classic, revived in a grand soirée version in printed pony skin and sequined inserts: an unexpected look for a gritty accessory that, once again, stands out for its versatility.

Even the New England, a more masculine model, has been redefined with micro scalloping, and this season is featured in lamé leather printed with micro-flowers, with a contrasting orange elastic detail, decorated with golden micro-studs and embellished with Swarovski crystals to juxtapose the monochrome lamé.
What a fun and fantastic way to wear sneakers!
