On the eve of the Yves Saint Laurant show by new creative director Anthony Vaccarello news spread on the outcome of the YSL vs Z&V case. The verdict is in, Zadig & Voltaire wins at the Paris commercial court ruling in its casewith the Yves Saint Laurent company. The judge found YSL’s claims against Zadig & Voltaire unfounded.
The latter had sued Z&V for allegedly replicating two of its Parisian stores on the Champs-Elysées, specifically the interior layout concepts found in the Yves Saint Laurent shop on the Montaigne avenue.
The commercial court ruled the Yves Saint Laurent company to pay 300,000 euros in damages to the Zadig & Voltaire company for abuse of process and 100,000 euros for legal costs and expenses. Zadig & Voltaire founder Thierry Gillier comments on the outcome:
