Paris: Foundation Louis Vuitton’s New Art Exhibition Lineup

Long relaxed summer days are the perfect time for leisurely strolls and cultural discoveries. The Louis Vuitton Foundation, a private cultural initiatives project started in 2006, recently released the schedule of new exhibitions in Paris- including an incredible work by Daniel Buren, a large scale color installation applied to the entire facade of the Foundation Louis Vuitton.

The Foundation Louis Vuitton unveiled a temporary installation by French artist Daniel Buren, who is known for utilizing color and shapes in site-specific works.

Entirely covering the glass sails of the Fondation Louis Vuitton, “The Observatory of Light” is amazing. The colored filters installed by the artist dialogue with the architecture designed by Frank Gehry, creating plays of reflective light with changing perspectives at different times of day.

The hangings of selected works by Chinese artists, from the Foundation’s private collection, are on exhibit but only through the end of August. The exhibition offers an immersion into the universe of eleven contemporary Chinese artists, whose works revisit Chinese myths or propose their visions of the current state of Chinese society.
