Talking to Sarita in the making

Sarita looks up at me from the photos scattered about her desk, the young Argentina, the middle child between sisters and brothers, sits among family photos, fragments of lace, and pencil drawings that make up the inspiration of her Spring 2017 collection.

Behind us the pop of white noise is punctuated by the sharp flash of photographers assigned to capture the set of finished parts and more or less advanced models of the designs. The carefully arranged photos and elegantly clad models in Sara Lanzi designs are all staged for this reason. The intent is to show a path of the SS17 collection, suggesting the direction of the young designer and showing the range of possibilities the collection offers.

Sara Lanzi, born in La Spezia, lives and works in Perugia. After graduating with a degree in Conservation of Cultural Heritage, she started working in fashion. In 2005 she created her first collection and soon after began to present during Paris Fashion Week.

Recently the beautiful designer won the contest “Who Is On Next?”, a globally recognized and coveted award offered to one designer each year in Italy.  From this, Sara explains, she was scouted by the organizers of AltaRoma and Vogue Italy.

And on the 10th of July Sara will present her Spring 2017 collection during AltaRoma. When I asked her for a sneak peek the shy beauty parried but did give me a small clue, a photo of a beautiful family obscured by graphic lines except for one pensive face.

I must admit, I am very curious.
