The Bottega Veneta Spring 2017 menswear collection is inspired by the “off camera” attire we’ve come to expect of our favorite Hollywood leading men.
In today’s paparazzi-happy world film stars bring glamour on and off the silver screen. The collection features bold red carpet looks in silk shantung fabrics shown alongside low key but elegant “airport” attire. A monochrome look in khaki with slouchy trousers, a classic cashmere crewneck sweater and matching car coat is a standout. It’s perfect for the infamous LAX paparazzi shots that require today’s star men to be effortless and sophisticated.
The collection adds a sartorial edge with the paper-bag waist design on trousers and with the ultra-lux motorcycle jackets patchworked in exotic skins.
For the presentation models pose “camera ready” styled in various looks that might be worn for a date with a leading starlet or for interviews with the press.
One could almost imagine the smoldering Chris Pine announce, “I’m ready for my close-up.”
