The new Ermanno Scervino campaign shot by Peter Lindbergh in Paris featured models Hana Jirickova and Jordan Barrett, who played out a story of an aristocratic couple in love. For the editorial Ermanno Scervino combines both his menswear and womenswear line, as is the trend of other brands, into one campaign.

“I wanted two young people to tell about a strong and delicate collection,” Ermanno Scervino said.

In the still-life shots I could see that Scervino was inspired by movies from the famous Italian director Luchino Visconti. Every portrait was glamorous and intimate, Lindbergh’s intent was to show true human feelings, distracted yet thoughtful. “The personality (of the client) is first considered, then the apparel,” the head designer went on to say.

The fabrics chosen illustrated his quote. The use of plissé emphasized and added a bit of charm to the collection. I noticed beautiful applications of lace plissé on sleeves, collars and also on the magnificent pieces of lingerie. The latter was further complimented by the formal use of pearls.

Another material utilized in the campaign was tweed –the young couple both wore it – on him were classic tweed pants and on her, a tweed skirt dotted with shimmering paillets! Pearls made another appearance in this look but this time they were presented on a sweater.

I believe the strongest look of the collection was the white autumn coat with military details and mink fur trim.

Another look I noted was the classic white pantsuit worn by the female protagonist. It presented the leading lady at the same level in the relationship as her partner.

For the Autumn season Ermanno Scervino wanted a fashion couple to show how to combine the new collection without roles or labels. Wear what you want to wear, without any stereotypes… And wear it with him or her, feeling a connection between you both.
