I wish I had the kind of disposable income that allowed me to walk into my favorite galleries and buy the work that I love right off the walls, but let’s get real, that’s just not gonna happen anytime soon. So instead I will rely on the next best (affordable) thing: the internet.
Early Work is the first online platform dedicated to art students and young art school graduates. Founded by a group of five enthusiasts in their twenties, with experience in culture, the art market and finance, this independent marketplace offers collectors, amateurs and the wider public the opportunity to discover the talents of tomorrow, presenting works by students and recent graduates at prices that remain affordable, from paintings and photographs to sculpture, engraving and design. You should definitely have a look at!
Case and point- our cover image comes from the series “Masters” and was created from pictures of a documentary retracing the Nazi Germany Olympic Games in 1936. These games caused a scandal at the time and were maintained despite numerous public protests. The album containing pictures of male athletes, was found by the artist in the attic of his family house. The artist integrated shapes and colors on these photographs, giving sportsmen the look of imaginary creatures or heroes from another world.
