Demna Gvasalia’s fresh take on Vetements couture
When Vetements stages its first couture runway show in July, it will be on its own terms.
The ready-to-wear label known for its streetwear edge and androgynous character is to present both men and women side by side. “The collection will involve different elements including some Vetements interpretations of couture,” a spokeswoman for Vetements explained, adding that it would not be on a see-now-buy-now timeline, which the label has been advocating, but run on a normal delivery schedule.
As reported, Vetements, which is helmed by Balenciaga’s artistic director Demna Gvasalia, is among the brands that have been elected new guest members to the couture calendar in Paris.
