Yesterday ANDAM announced the nominees for its annual competition, one of the industry’s longest-running prizes. 2016 brings an eclectic list of talents in the area of accessories. Carine Roitfeld leads this year’s judging panel with Alber Elbaz, Hilary Alexander, Colette’s Sarah Lerfel, Jefferson Hack and Humberto Leon as well as Renzo Rosso’s Only the Brave and the Pierre Bergé-Yves Saint Laurent Foundation. Together they’ll grant the winner over $300,000 (more than the CFDA or BFC emerging desinger awards), mentoring, and the chance to show their collection in Paris.
Past winners of the prestigious top prize include Iris van Herpen, Anthony Vaccarello, and Giles Deacon.
This year two of our favorite accessory designers have snagged nominations for the prestigious prize, Amelie Pichard and Hugo Matha!
“My creative process revolves around clichés and «raw-mantic» stories between men and women”.
Amelie Pichard launched her line of shoes and accessories in 2011. Pichard has since collaborated with Garrett Leight, Le Coq Sportif and most recently Pamela Anderson on a line of Vegan footwear & accessories.
The AMELIEPICHARD collection is carried at Le Bon Marché, colette, Opening Ceremony, Tom Greyhound among other top retailers.
Hugo Matha attended the Dupperé school in Paris whose notable alumni include Pierre Hardy, Guillaume Henry and Alexandre Mattuisi. After assisting Jean Charles de Castelbajac, in 2013 Hugo Matha launched his line of luxury hand-crafted accessories.
Matha blends natural elements such as wood & stone with exotic leathers such as iguana & alligator. Hugo Matha is carried at key retailers such as colette, Boon the Shop, D’NA, TOTOKAELO, among others.
