Ralph and Russo spring 2016 couture collection was framed inside a wall of candy-colored blossoms, Tamara Ralph and Michael Russo professed their love for peonies and tulips, ivy leaves and roses, which they delicately hand-painted, sculpted or appliquéd on dresses in retro silhouettes. This required no small effort judging from an apricot siren dress’ cascading trail that was entirely composed of petal-shaped feathers.

It was all familiar territory for the brand, including the dramatic finale: A bride, who required the help of six aides to turn around in a gown the maxi kimono sleeves and three-meter train, embellished with silver bullion, pearls and crystals.
