3.1 Philip Lim Pre-Fall 2016

Philip Lim pre-fall 2016 collection was inspired by the English country house culture. There were equestrian elements, like button details and jodhpur-like leggings, and riffs on upper-class casualwear such as field coats and khakis.

Lim modernized the pieces with sophisticated leisure athletic wear making ample use of a silk foulard print, romantic ruffles and lace, and glitzy lamé. Many of the silhouettes were an update from Spring 2016 collection, such as the backless ruffled bomber, and the paper-bag-waist pants which populated his designs at the start of his career.
