Located in Seville in Spain, ‘El Pintón’ is a restaurant designed by Lucas y Hernández-Gil Arquitectos with the aim of fostering a link between the strong presence of the traditional architecture and a fresh and contemporary approach to the typical Sevillian courtyard.

Mouldings and casts added in previous interventions were eliminated so that the original raw textures could be appreciated. These were then finished with lime mortar.
Different spaces were unified with a timber floors and ceilings. The courtyard sits at the heart of the restaurant, articulating the rest of the spaces and acting as a diffuser of character between the interior and the exterior. The designers have played up the “outdoor theme”, enhancing this space with some vegetation, garden furniture, wreaths, lanterns and a camouflage fabric used for shading.
Furniture is a combination of bespoke pieces designed by Lucas y Hernández-Gil using metal and timber. The menu is a tasty assortment of contemporary cuisine, with a strong menu of seafood inspired plates.
