The Golden Goose Deluxe Brand was created by Italian designers Francesca and Alessandro Gallo in 2000 out of love for fashion and art. The duo, known for their fashion street style, worked with traditional Venetian tailors to produce their elegant and modern day-wear collection.
This month the brand opened its newest flagship store in New York, and introduced their Spring 2016 collection. The New York store is their 8th flagship, after opening stores in Seoul, Milan, Tokyo, Amsterdam, Beirut, Paris and more recently in Nagoya.
The latest GGDB/NY outpost is located on New York’s famous Broome Street in the heart of the Soho district. The flagship is situated amongst Manhattan’s cool clubs, boutiques and art galleries.
The brand is housed inside a historic building with over 100 square meters of space and eight large windows, four of which face out onto the New York city streets.
The concept store was designed entirely in-house by the GGDB team. The result is an atmosphere that is lively and innovative. The dynamic structure is formed of white marble blocks; copper toned brass racks were added which dangle from the ceiling, suspending (and showcasing) the clothes. The mirrored walls add brightness and depth to the space. The entrance of the store has more of the white marble, and glass and lead plates, along the front, create a distinctive feature.
As for the collection, this season GGDB stays true to the “urban-wear” brand but focuses on more luxe fabrics and sport-y silhouettes. The separates-centric collection is meant to be mixed and matched to create a ‘personal style’ effortlessly – drawing together your favorite pieces in seamless combination.
For Spring 2016, GGDB really shines with their accessories offered in contemporary shapes and in vibrant colors which pop against the tonal palette of neutral shades – mainly in slate grey, brick reds and earthy greens.
