Vacationers who prefer to travel to trendy, warm locations all year long will appreciate the new InterContinental Double Bay in Sydney Australia. The hotel is a former Ritz Carlton property which has hosted the likes of Bill Clinton, Elton John and Madonna.

Architectural firm Bates Smart gave the property a contemporary face-lift but retained the elegance and style of the former Ritz hotel. The firm refurbished bathrooms with marble flooring, paneling and countertops. The refreshed Royal Suite has floor-to-ceiling windows and a walk-in wardrobe that can store up to 80 pairs of shoes.

There is a restaurant headed by chef Julien Pouteau, a rooftop infinity pool with bar, private cabanas and panoramic views of the Sydney harbor.
