The Mirror Houses are a pair of holiday homes, set in the surroundings of the South Tyrolean Dolomites, amidst a beautiful scenery of appletrees, just outside the city of Bolzano. They were designed by architect Peter Pichler.
The Mirror houses offer a unique chance to be surrounded by contemporary architecture of the highest standards, and, the most astonishing Landscape and beauty nature has to offer. Situated on the doorstep of Europe’s largest Alpine plateau, Alpe di Siusi, the exteriors are an optical masterstroke of UV-coated mirrored glass which cloaks the western facades, instead reflecting the dramatic contours of the Mendel mountains.
Inside each house, Pichler has wrought a living room-kitchen, bedroom and bathroom out of just 25 sq m, introducing light and air via skylights. Furniture from Italian company Plank, nut wood screens and a Gervasoni Ghost sofa bed, add to the sleek flexibility while cantilevered terraces and gardens further break the boundary between dwelling and setting.
The Mirror Houses are located in South Tyrol in northern Italy, a region famous for its breathtaking landscape, culinary delights, its wines and countless possibilities for outdoor activity.
