The Zac Posen Spring 2016 opens with a targeted color palette -‐-‐ navies, black, and whites – and highlights the house artisanal craftsmanship with an agile showcase of daywear and separates.
“Lightness defines the collection. I wanted to inject a fair bit of fluidity into the formula without relinquishing the essentially feminine point of view of my designs. The idea is to blend couture techniques into the daywear and, in turn, to bring the daywear comfort into after-‐dark dressing.”
The collection stages a new attitude with intricate tailoring techniques that are applied equally to separates, daywear, and eveningwear. Light fabrications, such as cotton and silk charmeuse, are draped softly and feature bar tack stiches to give the garments a deconstructed feel. Hashtag bugle bead embroideries are handcrafted onto featherweight organza and sleeves, cuffs, and hems, connected with staple-‐like stitching, are infused with an elegance characteristic of the brand.
