The London Design Festival: 19 – 27 September 2015.

The London Design Festival was conceived by Sir John Sorrell and Ben Evans, their concept was to create an annual event that would promote the city’s creativity, drawing in the country’s greatest thinkers, practitioners, retailers and educators to deliver a celebration of design.

First staged in 2003, the London Design Festival is one of the world’s most important annual design events. The Festival program is made up of over 400 events and exhibitions across the design spectrum and from around the world.

A major feature of the London Design Festival each year is the ambitious program of special projects and installations. Over the years, they have appeared in some of London’s most prominent and best-loved spaces, including the V&A, Southbank Centre, Tate Modern and Trafalgar Square. This year, Greenwich Peninsula joins that list with the architectual installation “Bullet from a Shooting Star” by Alex Chimneck.

A number of large group-shows will take place across the city where new and established exhibitors from the UK and around the world will debut their designs. These ‘Design Destinations’ are crucial for designers and manufacturers wanting to reach new markets and provide excellent platforms for new and emerging designers and makers to present their products and innovations.

In addition to special projects and the fair, there will be a variety of events that show the richness and depth of the design activity that takes place in the capital.  For more information visit the London Design Fair website.
