The United Kingdom and Italy team up to present a new sustainable fashion week in Venice, Italy. The announcement came yesterday from Marina Iremonger, the British Consulate’s head of Retail & Luxury Trade in Italy.

Here is everything we know so far:

Designer Marina Spadafora (photo: courtesy)The Players: The project is lead by designer Marina Spadafora with Tiziano Guardini and Patrick McDowell.

The Mission: Venice Fashion Week is sponsored by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization). Their primary objective is to develop sustainable, universal and ambitious programs by the people and for the people.

The Dates: The Venice Fashion Week will take place from October 17th to the 26th at the Hotel Ca ‘Sagredo on the Grand Canal.

The Locations: The runway shows will take place in Venetian palaces throughout the city.

Participating Countries: Venice Fashion Week will be an international showcase with designers from Italy, UK, Austria, Africa, and France presenting sustainable fashion and quality craftsmanship.

Events: Patrick McDowell will host a conference titled UK-Italy: Lessons in Sustainable Fashion.
