I attended a presentation at the Orciani showroom for the new Spring/Summer 2017 collection. Orciani offered many new pieces for the season, such as leather bags blending European and African design technique, which I liked. The bags and belts were decorated by hand using different tones and materials- ornate beading on belts in deep colors were poignant this season.

But the suede Nappa, an ultra-soft hammered leather, was the leitmotif of the latest Orciani collection. Different types of Orciani accessories were made of this material because they were comfortable to use and because of the softness. This is the type of bag  would take to work, to The Fashion Plate magazine’s office for meetings. It is stylish, professional, lightweight and durable.

Orciani also started combining leather with fabric in a country version of the tie-dye JAPAN series. It was sporty so it’s easy to wear on my way to work.

Inventive belts and camouflage messenger bags completed the collection with Orciani’s typical savoir-faire that is best expressed through its experimentation, the belts are made to emphasize the new Orciani collection. The handmade details on the belts presented a combination of artisan craftsmanship and fashion, which were really artistic and unique.

The rule-breaking camouflage messenger bag was ideal for a contemporary businessman – it is something new from Orciani, the suggestive style is meant as an an add to the “for work” wardrobe. What was really impressive to me were the versatile the (flexible), hole-less belts. Since men usually have problems with belt sizes, I thought it was an amazing idea! That brilliant bit would definitely be part of my “for work” wardrobe.

See you at the next presentation!
