Congratulations are in order to Sophia Webster for winning this year’s BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund. The British Fashion Council (BFC) announced Sophia Webster’s win this evening at a cocktail reception hosted at London’s Bulgari Hotel.

The judging committee was impressed by Webster’s brilliant talent and thorough business acumen, in a short period of time the young shoe designer has managed to attract a loyal clientele to her ethereal and innovative footwear designs. Judges also praised the young designer on her ability to develop an international following and make a name for her British based footwear brand amongst the coveted top few.
The Designer Fashion Fund was established in 2008 and provides one designer with a bespoke, high level mentoring support program and the £200,000 grant to help take them to the next stage in their business.
At the event tonight Alexandra Shulman OBE, Editor of British Vogue and Chair of the BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund, commented:
“Sophia Webster is a great winner for this year’s award. The brand encapsulates all the originality and creativity that British fashion is known for while Sophia and her team have pursued a clear vision with drive and professionalism.”
