The MM6 Pre-fall 2016 collection is inspired by a famous 16th-century painting, Gabrielle d’Estrées et une de ses sœurs, which depicts two nude women, one pinching the other’s bosom, her forefinger touching her thumb, forming the number six with her hand. This idea of merging rebellion and 16th century romance translates to clothes that combines street-wear elements with medieval flourishes.
The collection is a lineup of cool wearable pieces. An oversize bomber with varsity striping and a reversible rain jacket with blue flannel lining will suit the edgy girl types, while whimsical dressers and sheer blouses with drawstring ties will favor the more romantic.
The collection also featured deconstructed pinstripe suiting, a plush and fluffy textured jacket and pants in camel, and a red dress that could be worn a variety of ways by wrapping the sleeves and using the cut outs along the shoulders as various neckline options.
