Pedro García and Spanish designer, Juan Vidal, collaborate on a shoe collection that takes advantage of their common spirit. Global phenom shoe designer, Pedro García, produced two models, exclusively for Juan Vidal’s Spring 2016 collection, at Madrid Fashion Week last month.
The two designers are united by a similar origin, Juan Vidal is the fourth generation of a family of tailors originating in Elda (Alicante), the same town as Pedro García. Both Juan and Pedro live in their hometown in Elda, and have launched designer showrooms, and maintain office headquarters there. The style of the two Spanish natives are distinct, due to designs that mix their cultural heritage with a contemporary point of view.
At 35, Juan Vidal sports numerous accolades including the National Fashion Award conferred by the Spanish government and Vogue Spain’s prestigious “Who’s on Next” award.
For this new collaboration, Pedro Garcia designed two models: Idana and Nikita, both are platform-style shoes with a nod to old India and its iconic Puduka Sandal. The simple and sophisticated Mediterranean design is thrust sharply into the land of luxury accessories, with the large Swarovski crystal brilliantly cut to decorate the simple slippers.
