Located among the baroque churches, colonial houses, art museums and old glam cafés in Buenos Aires’ San Telmo district is the Puerto Limón Hostel, a communal style boutique residence with a vintage style and retro décor.

The mid-century classic interiors dressed in a mix of velvet and linen fabrics create a light and cozy atmosphere especially in the bar and lounge . Local architecture firm Grin wanted to emphasize the property’s social spaces.

“I was inspired by this glorious and shabby barrio. As a counterpart, I wanted to create a casual, warm and elegant setting but with a homey feeling, bringing in very comfortable furniture,” explains designer Adriana Grin.

In each of the eight 380 sq foot apartments there is a fully equipped kitchen-living room, bedroom and bathroom. All of the apartments have views that over look the swimming pool or the old-style street outside.

Each space is designed in rustic wood and stone paneled walls and furnished with hand-woven wool rugs, pine headboards, Eero Saarinen tables and BKF leather chairs.
