ME by Meliá is the latest hotel to open in Milan’s popular Brera district. The area is home to the city’s best aperitivo nightspots and the world famous design district.
The location formally housed luxury hotel Duca di Milano. The late Aldo Rossi designed the classic structure with Carrara marble, the same Italian marble Leonardo di Vinci sourced for the famous Duomo in Milan. For the redesign Mortini Studio focused on the interiors creating a balanced mix of traditional and contemporary Italian design.
The decor is a serene medley of muted tones in soft greys, golden beige and creamy taupe. The 132 guests rooms feature pieces by Gio Ponti and Luca Medi. The rooftop bar with panoramic views overlooking the Garibaldi Towers is industrial chic with bespoke lighting and furnishings by Achille Castiglioni and local artisans.
