The first day of London Fashion Week opened with Bora Aksu’s show on Friday (September 19). This season’s show took place in the British Fashion Council’s (BFC) new venue – a car park.
Turkish born, British based designer, Bora Aksu’s collection was inspired by his childhood summer holidays spent in his family holiday home in the turkish coastal city of Izmir. His fashion focus this season was on bursts of colour and different shades of light which he reflected in the use of silk and lace in his garments. Aksu’s ‘magical garden’ was emphasised with his use of fresh flowers, that models wore as part of a headdress.
