Chlorophyll water is a current sell-out in trendy juice bars and earth-loving yoga studios. Hailed as a beauty and health elixir, the vegetable is being pureed into shakes and droplets added to water.
Green leaf veggies are considered perfect foods thanks to chlorophyll and research suggests that this green pigment is also important for promoting good and strong health.
Only recently have nutritionists shared adding droplets of Chlorophyll to water. Chlorophyll has an alkalizing effect on water and it might help the body absorb it better, but there still is no conclusive evidence.
What is known is that the vegetables that produce Chlorophyll are a good source of vitamins such as vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin K and beta carotene. It is rich in antioxidants, vital minerals such as magnesium, iron, potassium, calcium and essential fatty acids, as well as protein and can increase the quality and quantity of red blood cells in the body. One stalk of kale
4 sticks of chard/silverbeet
2 big handfuls of baby spinach leaves and/or watercress
2 sticks of celery
5 broccoli florets
1 inch of raw root ginger
