A gesture of everyday life as simple as a hug contains all the difficulties that may exist at a moment, at an encounter, between two people, two bodies, two forms. When the embrace occurs, the two forms become one, and each receives and each is accepted: then, the two forms interpenetrate.
This is the idea behind art furnishing designer Mauro Mori’s new shape titled, Humm. The design is the result of of two forms made from a wood mold developed in bronze using a traditional by-hand process. A noble and difficult creation, the use of a wood mold recalls the process of creation, and there arises the shape that reinterprets the encounter between two forms, in a bonding embrace.
