Custom-Made Interiors At Spain’s New El Pintón Restaurant In Seville.

Located in Seville, Spain, El Pintón is a chic new restaurant in Spain’s ancient Roman city. Architecture firm Lucas y Hernández-Gil Arquitectos took on the project with the aim of “fostering a link between the strong presence of traditional architecture and a fresh approach to Sevillian design”. They vowed to restore the space to its original grandeur and reimagine the interiors with a polished and contemporary look.

The main project goal to restore the façade and interior structure meant eliminating dated moldings and casts from previous renovations to expose the original raw textures beneath. Then, they treated the walls and columns with lime mortar, an ancient design technique created by the Egyptians over 6000 years ago.

The designers unified different spaces with timber flooring and ceiling treatments. They brought the outside in by enhancing the courtyard at the center of the restaurant with vegetation, garden furniture, wreaths, lanterns, and a camouflage fabric used for shading. Finally they designed bespoke furnishings in natural metal and timber to fit the space.

The menu is a tasty assortment of contemporary cuisine and seafood inspired plates. Chef Javier Carmona brazenly serves an eclectic menu of tapas with Mediterranean flavors, some fused with Asia notes. Some traditional menu items include tasty Spanish jamón and dulce de leche. But you can also order something as common as French toast.
