Gucci to debut limited edition book in NYC

Dover Street Market New York will host the launch of Gucci’s new limited edition book, Epiphany, today from 6-8pm. The book, which is published by Idea, is dedicated to Dionysus, the Roman God of Wine, and documents the making of Gucci’s Pre-Fall 2016 campaign. Both the book’s images and the campaign were photographed by Dutch photographer, Ari Marcopoulos.

The book showcases the many colorful moments behind the Gucci campaign creations under the direction of creative director Alessandro Michele.

“For seven days we photographed Alessandro’s collection,” shares Marcopoulos of the campaign in a statement. “As the days went on, our surrounding made me feel equally in Roman times of the past and solidly in the present and future. Above all, we were having a good time which would have pleased Dionysus.”

Marcopoulos himself will make an appearance at the event to sign copies of the book which will be on DSMNY shelves for four weeks only. Any remaining copies will then be transported to Italy to be sold during the Pitto Uomo exhibition in Florence in June.

Released in a limited run of 1,000, each copy is set to come packaged in a bright pink bubble wrap envelope featuring a holographic Gucci snake sticker on the front and the option of 13 different covers on the actual book.
