Nick Knight tapped for Craig Green Fall 2015 campaign.

United by a mutual interest in movement, color and energy, celebrated London menswear designer Craig Green and image-maker Nick Knight team up to create Green’s first ever campaign, to feature his A/W 15 collection. References included shots of football and rugby tackles, and the final images toy with themes of chaos and aggression. They are accompanied by an exclusive fashion film, filmed on set.

From his sensual Dior campaigns in the nineties to his now iconic, conceptual imagery for Yohji Yamamoto, Nick Knight’s images are known for their unexpected, striking use of color and shape. Over the years he has collaborated with some of the world’s most acclaimed designers on their campaign imagery, from John Galliano to Alexander McQueen. Impressed by Craig Green’s skill, modesty and vision, he now teams with the celebrated London menswear designer on Green’s debut ad campaign, featuring the label’s Autumn/Winter 15 collection.

The movement that is often visible in Knight’s work is central to the campaign, but the delicacy that has underpinned certain films and images – from Dynamic Blooms to Special Cases – is replaced with a more chaotic, brutal and rugged sensibility, one that compliments Green’s interest in purity, block color and elevated workwear. The images celebrate the spontaneous and the disruptive, and serve as a tribute to the motion and majesty evident in all of Green’s work.

See Green and Knight’s visions and approaches blend dynamically in a series of images, a fashion film and an exclusive tableau, created by Knight just for SHOWstudio.

The campaign was brought to life in the window of the Dover Street Market London store, in line with the delivery of Green’s Autumn/Winter collection (June 2015). The campaign images were created with the support of Adrian Joffe and the Dover Street Market team.
